Our 6th Annual Charity Warehouse sale is coming to an end and we are thrilled with the turnout. People traveled hundreds of miles to stock up on bella bliss for their little ones (and some moms came home with clothes for themselves)!!
the line the first day of the sale!!
Over the past three days there have been over a thousand people who have shopped the sale.
What a crowd!
Women lined up in the hallways to look through their piles of clothes.

We are so glad we have the opportunity to make room in our warehouse for our upcoming season and are happy to be helping a charity that is near and dear to our hearts. Every year we donate 10% of the net proceeds to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and have given beyond $30,000 over the past six years. This year will be our largest donation to date. People are still shopping the sale with under 3 hours to go!
Women left with boxes and bags full of clothes and accessories!
A great deal of work goes into this event, and we are often surprised ourselves at the results! The merchandise consists of samples, past-season overstocks, and a large number of pieces that we cut specifically for online outlets and the LLS sale. It is a great way to use up our signature fabrics overseas and give our suppliers more work during their slow seasons. All around, it is a win-win for everyone!

Fall 2012 photo shoot!
We have a lot of new items in our fall line we know you’ll love!
Lisa McLean, our owner and designer, just got back from a week long business trip in France with her husband Pope. Between meetings they were able to shop, attend the French Derby with old friends, enjoy the french culture and cuisine, and tour the beautiful country side. Lisa and Pope enjoyed their trip so much (we’re glad they decided to come back) that Lisa agreed to share her experience with us!
We arrived in Paris early Thursday morning where our friend, Ghislain, met us for a quick espresso and croissant. We each only slept about 4 hours on the plane, but we were ready to spend the day in the city.
A little tired at breakfast.
We headed to the Louvre, walked around for awhile and found ourselves in a cafe filled with artists covered in paint clay. Everyone knew each other and were talking across the room…such a neat place. After lunch, we headed to Musee de l’Orangerie, the impressionism museum famous for housing Claude Monet’s Water Lilly murals. We spent the afternoon walking the Champs Elysee and then were finally able to get into our hotel room for some much needed rest.
The next morning, Pope and I took a train to Pont-Sainte-Maxence, a village 53 KM outside of Paris. Ghislain and his wife, Mathilde, searched for a house in this area for 2 years, before finding this amazing spot. I was speechless. They have been renovating for 8 months, and I am so impressed with what they did. Everything was perfect.
Their beautiful home.
And I loved Mathilde’s kitchen…so open, with beautiful light and views. She is an amazing cook who always uses fresh herbs from her garden. She even had a chalkboard wall which was an idea I wanted to use in our house…so charming!
I loved this in the kitchen!
Later, Mathilde took me on a tour of the countryside on our way to meet her friend who is an antique dealer. I love picking up something uinque from each of our trips…

We spent Saturday with Mathilde and Ghislain’s daughter, Jeanne, my little french GPS who guided us to the town of Senlis. We were amazed at her sense of direction and her knowledge of short cuts (she doesn’t even know how to read yet). We had another great lunch, shopped, and visited the local church.
Jeane, our little GPS. LOVE HER!
We went back to the house to prepare for the party which lasted until 4 am. Fresh oysters, rum punch, champagne, and an amazing band made for a wild evening!
Another view of their house.
Sunday was the French Derby, or Prix du Jockey Club which takes place in Chantilly.
Entrance to the track.
The track is beautiful with the Chateau de Chantilly as its backdrop. The stables are 186 meters long and are considered the most beautiful in the world. I was told that the Duc de Bourbon built them because he believed he would one day be reincarnated as a horse…

Our final day was spent in meetings…don’t want to give too much away but we have some neat things in the works… stay tuned!!

bella bliss will hold it’s 6th annual warehouse sale in conjunction with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Light the Night Walk June 27th – 29th. For the past 6 years bella bliss has donated 10% of the net proceeds from the sale to the LLS Light the Night Walk, and has been able to donate over $30,000 so far! The sale is held in Lexington, KY at Sayre School, who has been so kind to donate their space for the second year now. It is an opportunity for bella bliss to clear out samples and overstock at up to 90% off retail prices, with most clothing being $10, and is quite the popular event here in Lexington, KY. Moms have traveled from as far as Atlanta to stock up on their favorite pieces for little ones! The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society has proven to be a wonderful organization to partner with. They provide volunteers to help us with the sale and our joint efforts in marketing really help to get the word out. We are looking forward to this year’s sale and hope that we can continue to grow this beneficial event.
